Zachary Louisiana Car Wreck Puts one in ICU

Posted on May 11, 2011

A serious car wreck this month in Zachary, Louisiana has left one person seriously injured, and extensive property damage. The wreck happened on a city street and involved three vehicles. At this time, the wreck is being investigated by law enforcement officials and no citations have been made as of yet.

19 year-old Anthony Desselle was driving a four wheeler on local Louisiana highway and road W.J. Wicker when the wreck occurred. Apparently Desselle made an attempt to pass a vehicle on the roadway, went around it, and collided head on with a motorcycle with two passengers on it. Then, Desselle's four wheeler made impact with the vehicle it had tried to pass, and came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene of the wreck, Desselle was found to be in critical condition and was taken immediately to a health center for treatment. The two people riding the motorcycle were also taken to a medical center for treatments of their injuries. The third vehicle's driver received minor injuries and extensive damage to her vehicle. The wreck is currently being investigated, and at this time no citations have been made for this accident. However, charges might be pending, and will be announced at the closing of this investigation.

Four wheel vehicles often have insurance policies issued on them. This allows recovery for accidents and damages caused by such vehicles. Also, given the number of individuals injured in this accident, it is likely that UM insurance will be necessary if a full recovery for all damages can be obtained. In order for your insurance company to deny you UM insurance in Louisiana, the law requires that you specifically, and in writing, reject this coverage. A rejection online by computer is often not sufficient. It is always critical to make sure your insurance company has "dotted their i's and crossed their t's" when they try to deny UM coverage to you.
