This month on the west bank side of New Orleans, Louisiana near Bridge City, an accident occurred that claimed the life of one person. Police who responded to the accident reported that it happened around 5am in the morning during a low flowing amount of traffic. It is unknown if the use of alcohol or another substance was the cause of this accident, but routine toxicology reports are pending. It was not released if that was a suspected factor in this accident. The investigation into this wreck continues, and no citations have been made at this point.
The wreck started out with Sean M. Bond driving his 2002 Hyundai Accent westward bound on U.S. highway 90. For reasons that are currently unknown, Bond was driving along before he rear-ended the back semi trailer. The semi trailer's driver was 56 year-old Andre Franklin of Westwego, Louisiana. He had been trying to pass over the westbound lanes of Highway 90 to turn eastwards when Bond made impact with the trailer.
Sean M. Bond was taken immediately to the West Jefferson Medical Center following the accident. However, around 6am Bond had died from injuries he sustained in the wreck. The medical status of Andre Franklin is unknown. Franklin was not suspected of being intoxicated during the accident, nor was it said if he was properly restrained. Toxicology reports are being waited on by the police for Bond, and it was not released if they suspected him being under the influence or not.
