This month in Webster parish, Louisiana a car wreck claimed the life of one local woman. The accident happened on a local Louisiana highway around 7:30 AM, responding state troopers investigating the accident and witnesses to the wreck report. It is unknown at this time if the suspicion of alcohol use or other illicit drugs played a role in this fatal car wreck, but the accident is still under investigation by the police, and samples from the driver have been taken to the lab for analysis.

Witnesses driving behind 54 year-old Kathy Dodson's 2006 Toyota Camry stated that the woman was driving erratically just before the accident, swerving about her lane. Then for unknown reasons, Dodson swerved completely from her lane, over the lane of oncoming traffic, and headed off into a ditch. After hitting the ditch, the front end of the Camry struck a culvert causing the car to become airborne upside down. The vehicle finally came to rest end over end on the roof, where it stayed until emergency personnel could arrive to the scene.

Kathy Dodson was restrained at the time of the accident, and was removed from the vehicle before taken to Homer Hospital. At the hospital, she was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident. This wreck is still under investigation by the Louisiana state Trooper's squad G, and toxicology reports are pending from this accident. It was not released if they suspected driving under the influence to be part of this accident.
