Wallace Louisiana Wreck Kills Two

Posted on Oct 04, 2010

Two men are dead after a wreck in Wallace, Louisiana this week. The men, both natives of Iberville, Louisiana were in the back seat of a vehicle that lost control. Reporting state police say that they were not wearing their seatbelts, nor is alcohol and drug use a suspected factor in this wreck.

The accident occurred on local Louisiana highway 3127, when the driver of the car the two men were in made an attempt as passing another vehicle. Colby Landry of Pierre Part passed the car in the southbound lane, but in the process ran off the northbound lane's shoulder. Landry over corrected and his car went back into the southbound lane where it continued until it got to the shoulder. At the shoulder, Landry's truck hit an unoccupied vehicle before striking several trees, and coming to rest on it's passenger side.

Landry and the front seat passenger were wearing their seatbelts and taken to the hospital immediately for treatment of moderate injuries. His two back passengers, James Davis and Kerry Rodriguez were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Routine toxicology tests are pending in compliance with Louisiana law, but driving under the influence is not a suspected factor in this crash. However, speed is. The investigation into this accident continues, and no one has been cited. To learn more about what you're supposed to do after an accident visit our Accident Page.
