A child was killed this week in Franklin, Louisiana after they were hit while playing on their bicycle in the street. Reporting police could not specify names, but have released that an investigation is pending for the entire incident. Citations will be made in accordance to what the investigators find out about the accident.
The accident happened in the evening around 6:45 p.m. reports the St.Mary Parish Sheriff's office when a young child who was riding their bicycle on East street was struck and badly injured by a young, sixteen year old driver. The names of both children involved are unknown, but the driver was uninjured.
The young child was taken to Franklin Foundation Hospital, where they later died from injuries sustained in the accident with the sixteen year old. The cause of accident is currently unknown, and lab analysis is probably ongoing in accordance with Louisiana law. Citations have yet to be given out, and will be made in conjunction to the investigation.
