Three Car Lafayette, Louisiana Wreck Critically Injures

A three vehicle wreck this month near Lafayette, Louisiana has seriously injured one person, while others involved received minor injuries. Sources investigating the wreck have not released what citations will be named in this accident, or if they believe the wreck was caused by the use of alcohol or another substance.

The accident began around noon, sources say, on Lafayette's strip of Interstate 10. The driver of a white neon pick-up truck traveling eastbound down the interstate lost control of his vehicle, and crossed over the median of the interstate. The vehicle came into the westbound lane, and struck a silver pick-up truck head on. The debris from the accident came off the vehicles and made impact with a merging sheriff department vehicle.

The driver of the white pick-up truck was taken immediately to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the silver pick-up truck and the deputy sustained minor injuries and were treated on site. The accident caused serious traffic delays, as both sides of the interstate had to be shut down while debris were being removed. The wreck is still under investigation by Louisiana state troopers, and no citations have been named yet.
