A wreck in St.Mary parish, Louisiana killed one person and moderately injured another, reporting State Police have said. The accident occurred on local state highways, involved three vehicles. It is unknown if alcohol abuse is suspected to be a factor in this accident, and routine toxicology tests are being run on all of those involved.

This wreck began when 17 year old Joshua Chua was driving east bound down La.90 near La.318, and accidentally struck the back of 43 year old Ramona Phillip's vehicle. This sent Phillip's car colliding over the median in the road, and into oncoming traffic in the westbound lanes. There, the Phillip's car was struck head on by 73 year old David L. Lecklet in his vehicle. The collision caused injuries in all parties involved in the accident, and the state police were contacted.

David L. Lecklet was sent to the hospital with severe injuries, and was later pronounced dead as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash. Ramona Phillips was also taken to the hospital, but with moderate injuries sustained in the accident. Joshua Chua was treated for minor injuries, and wasn't injured badly. Responding State Police and sources have not released if there are more factors being considered in this accident. All that is known is that Chua is awaiting citations from the accident.
