An out of town couple from Kansas died this month in a serious St .Charles parish, Louisiana car accident. The out of town couple was hit by a dump truck, sources say, around noon on a local Louisiana state highway. The accident is still under investigation by the Louisiana state troopers and routine toxicology reports are pending under Louisiana law. However, the suspicion of drug or alcohol abuse in this accident is non existent.
The accident occurred on local Louisiana highway 3127 in St .Charles parish, Louisiana just before noon, sources say. Joann and Edgard Walden of Leawood, Kansas were driving their 2008 Toyota Highlander down the highway when a trash truck traveling the opposite direction driven by Michael Morrison had a failed tire. When the tire blew out, the truck veered into the northbound lane of the highway, making direct impact with the highlander and Waldens.
All of the people involved in this accident were wearing their seatbelts. The Waldens were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while Michael Morrison was taken immediately to a hospital listed as being in critical condition. Speed, and the abuse of substances is not suspected in this accident at all. The investigations into this accident are ongoing, and no citations have been made against anyone at this time says the Louisiana state police department.
