A serious Sabine parish, Louisiana car wreck this month has seriously injured at least one person sources say. The one vehicle wreck involved four young people, and at this point in time it is unknown if the use of alcohol or another substance was a suspected factor in this wreck. At this time, the investigation continues as police officers gather more facts about the car accident.
18 year-old Janee V. Sydney of Anacoco, Louisiana was driving a 2001 Honda CRV on local Louisiana highway 171 just north of the small town of Fisher, Louisiana when the wreck occurred. She had four small children with her ranging from ages eight to eleven. Apparently Sydney lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway, no one was ejected from the vehicle and at this time it is unknown if they were wearing seatbelts.
An eleven year-old boy in the vehicle received serious injuries, while a ten-year old and eight year-old received moderate injuries from the wreck. Sydney and the other passenger only received minor injuries in this wreck. At this time, the investigations continue and citations are pending. Right now, it is unknown if the emergency personnel took a toxicology test from Sydney, but the investigation has not closed yet.
After being involved in a serious car wreck, there are certain things one should know. If the wreck was not your fault, then you might be entitled to compensation from the wreck. This even applied to passengers in the vehicle. Louisiana allows 'guest passenger' suits. In the above situation, even if the investigation determines that the driver of the vehicle was at fault, the passenger may still be allowed to pursue damages under the driver's insurance policy. This is true even if the passengers were all related to the driver. These types of claims are called 'guest passenger' suits and are often overlooked by individuals injured in a single car accident. While the suit cannot undo the damage, sometimes it can provide money for medical expenses and compensation for the injured individuals.
