This month, a serious car wreck in Ruston, Louisiana has claimed the life of one man. The early afternoon car wreck happened near the Union parish line in Ruston, Louisiana on local highway 33. 65 year-old Larry Yeagle of Ruston, Louisiana was navigating a bicycle on the right hand shoulder of the highway when the accident occurred. A 2007 Nissan altima driven by 19 year-old Shakira Gatson attempted to avoid Yeagle, but could not and hit the man directly.

The Lincoln Parish Coroner's office arrived at the scene and pronounced Larry Yeagle dead from injuries sustained during the wreck. Shakira Gatson of Farmville, Louisiana was not injured in the accident. Investigators have an ongoing investigation on the wreck, and toxicology samples have been taken from all involved.
