A car accident that took place in the Swartz area of Ouachita Parish, Louisiana this week has claimed the life of one woman, and moderately injured another. Investigators into the wreck have stated that the use of alcohol and impaired driving are definite factors in this accident, and that toxicology tests have been sent into the lab for analysis. The two vehicle accident occurred on a local Louisiana highway just before midnight, sources say, and the investigations into this wreck are on going.
34 year-old Doyle Myers was driving his 2002 Chevrolet Malibu northbound down local Louisiana highway 139 when the accident occurred. According to the investigation, Myers was coming upon a slight curve in the road. When he started making the turn, Myers crossed the centerline of the highway and slammed into a 1996 Trailblazer driven by 27 year-old Marquita Washington. When the wreck happened, apparently Miles exited his vehicle and fled from the scene.
Marquita Washington sustained critical injuries in the wreck, and was taken immediately to a medical center. However, she died several hours later from injuries sustained in the accident. Her passenger, 23 year-old Andrea Payton was moderately injured and taken to a hospital. Doyle Myers fled from the scene of the wreck, and was impaired at the time. He was found and arrested for multiple citations following the accident. The investigations continue into this wreck, and more charges might be pending upon those results.
