One man dead in Fourchron, Louisiana wreck

Posted on Oct 18, 2010

A Fourchron, Louisiana accident claimed the life of one man, injured two other people and caused another to be arrested, sources say. The wreck happened late at night on a local Louisiana state highway, and involved only one vehicle. Police who responded to the accident say that alcohol was a major factor in this accident, and that one person was taken in on charges pertaining to that. It is unknown if other substances had an impact on this wreck.

It began when 22 year-old Legarick Taylor was driving his 2001 Ford Pick-up truck on local Louisiana highway 1 at an estimated 3:55am near Fourchron, Louisiana. A left turn came before him and for unknown reasons, Taylor failed to negotiate the left turn and went off the road to the right hand side. His vehicle which had two passengers in the car, hit a utility pole support before careening into a marsh and becoming partially submerged.

23 year-old Kendrick Johnson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was not wearing a seatbelt and was a backseat passenger in the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by the local coroner's office. The front seat passenger in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries from the accident. Legarick Taylor was also wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries. Taylor also submitted to an alcohol test, and was booked into the Lafourche parish jail on one count of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and improper lane usage. The accident is still under investigation from local law officials, for more information about Louisiana car accidents and safe driving tips, please visit our Car Accident Page today.
