Louisiana car accident kills teenage boy

Posted on Aug 24, 2010

Last month in Acadia parish, Louisiana there was a fatal accident that claimed the life of a seventeen year old young man. Reporting state police say that the accident happened just before 10:30pm, and that no one was else was critically injured in the accident.

The three car accident began when seventeen year old Nicholas A. Kidder was driving north on La 367going to an unknown location, when he approached an intersection marked with a stop sign on La 365. Kidder failed to yield at the intersection, and went straight through. Then a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Seth Moony of Rayne, Louisiana struck Kidder's front drivers side with his vehicle. After impact, State Police say that Kidder was ejected from his car, and that his car then struck a third automobile stopped at the intersection.

Kidder was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by the Acadia parish coroner's office. Seth Moony and a passenger in his car sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the third automobile sustained no injuries from the wreck at all. Police have said that Kidder's death could've been prevented by wearing a seat belt, and that routine toxicology tests are pending for all three drivers.
