Lincoln Parish I-22 Wreck Kills Two in Louisiana

Posted on Aug 03, 2010

Lincoln Parish, Louisiana was the scene of a grisly accident on Friday afternoon. The wreck happened on the eastbound lanes of I-22, and claimed the lives of two people. The investigating State Police Troop F has not closed investigation on the accident, and are still in the process of collecting toxicology tests.

Hannah Harris was driving her father's white Chevrolet suburban down Interstate 22, when for unknown reasons, she swerved from the left lane and into the right, hitting Nancy White's 2002 GMC Truck that was pulling livestock. Harris swerved from the interstate into the brush, followed closely by White's truck. Harris hit several trees before her vehicle hit one dead on, and came to a halt. Harris had four passengers in the suburban, including her father William Harris in the front seat. When police found the wreckage, William Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. Hannah was airlifted to the hospital for life threatening injuries.

Her two backseat passengers, Dianne and Bethany Harris were taken to the hospital for moderate injuries. Nancy White, and her passenger were also sent to a medical center to be treated for minor injuries. Nancy also lost three cows in the accident. On Saturday night, Hannah Harris passed away with injuries sustained from the crash. The spokesperson for Troop F has said that substance abuse is not considered a factor, but routine toxicology tests are pending. No citations have been named, and the accident is still being investigated.  You can read more about the Lincoln Parish accident on I-22 here.
