This month in Leesville, Louisiana a serious car wreck critically injured one man. Sources investigating the wreck have not attributed the wreck to any illicit substances, but routine toxicology reports are being pulled as required under Louisiana law for all fatal accidents.

46 year-old Ray L. Jones of Leesville, Louisiana was driving a 1996 Ford pick-up truck down local Louisiana highway number 8 when the accident occurred. According to investigators, Jones was traveling westbound and heading towards a curve in the roadway when he lost control. His vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, collided with a deep ditch embankment, and the continued on to impact several trees before finally coming to rest.

According to investigators and emergency staff who responded to the wreck, Jones was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck and was ejected from his vehicle. He was taken to Byrd Regional Hospital with moderate injuries, but then as the night continued, his condition became worse. Jones was then transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. Investigators have pulled toxicology reports, and charges are currently pending against Jones, but none have been officially stated.
