LaSalle parish Louisiana car accident kills child

Posted on Dec 16, 2010

A terrible car wreck in the Nebo area of LaSalle parish in Louisiana took the life of one young child, and seriously injured others. Investigators assigned to this accident did not state what they thought the main factors of this crash were. The wreck happened during the early hours of the afternoon on a local Louisiana highway, and involved two vehicles. Citations for this wreck have not been made, and are pending on the continuing investigation being made by police.

28 year-old Adam William Grant was driving his vehicle with four passengers, including two young children, down local Louisiana highway 127 when the accident occurred. Apparently for reasons that are currently being investigated Grant lost control of his vehicle, and drifted over the centerline of the highway. There he made a collision with a 2005 Chevrolet truck driven by 24 year-old Kyle Levi Hatfield. Hatfield was the only person occupying the truck at the time of the wreck.

The two year-old Gerald Andrew Grant was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by the LeSalle parish coroner's office. Adam William Grant received serious injuries, and was taken to Rapides Medical center for treatment. Grant's two other passengers received minor injuries and were transported to LeSalle Medical center for treatment. Hatfield received minor injuries from the wreck, but refused medical treatment. At this time the wreck is still under investigation, and no citations have been made.
