This week in Lake Charles, Louisiana a flaming accident took place next to a gas station, and nearly caused a very bad fire. Reporting police say that the accident caused extensive property damage, and injury to the parties involved. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this accident, and it is unknown if both parties were wearing their seatbelts.
The accident happened at 9:30 am in Lake Charles, at a local intersection of Lake street, and 18th street. The intersection has a light, and on the corner is a gas station. It happened when a black SUV tried to beat a yellow light, and ended up broad siding a maroon sedan. The Black SUV subsequently went spinning, and caught aflame when it ran into one of the gas station pumps. The sedan stayed in place on the street.
Witnesses to the accident rushed to help the driver of the sedan to get her out of danger's way, while the driver of the Black SUV jumped out of her car and ran in fear of the fire becoming larger. Workers at the gas station immediately stopped the gas pumps to avoid further danger in the situation. The driver of the broad sided sedan was taken to the hospital for injuries, but later released. It is unknown if the driver of the SUV was injured in this accident. To read more news about car accidents, and to learn what to do when you're involved in one visit our Car Accident web page.
