A car wreck involving a motorcycle and a normal sized vehicle in Lafayette, Louisiana this month has put one man in critical condition. Sources investigating the wreck said that it happened on Ambassador street within the city limits. It is unknown if the use an illicit substance or the use of alcohol is an expected factor in the wreck. The investigation into this wreck continues from the Lafayette police department, and citations have not yet been named.
According to witnesses at the wreck, it began when the man riding the motorcycle stopped at the intersection between Ambassador street and Ridge road around six o'clock in the evening. It is unknown if the driver of the motorcycle began to go at the change of the light or of his free accord, but the vehicle began moving across the intersection. A two-door Ford traveling down Ridge road eastbound made impact with the man on the motorcycle.
When police arrived to the scene, the man who was riding the motorcycle was in critical condition. He was taken via ambulance to the nearest medical center, and was still in critical condition two days later. The person driving the Ford was not injured in the crash. It is unknown if the police department tested for the use of substances among either of the people involved, or if the use of alcohol was a suspect in this wreck.
