A serious car wreck in Lafayette, Louisiana this month has critically injured one person and while another received minor injuries. Emergency officials who responded to the wreck have not stated whether or not they believe driving under the influence or some other intoxicated state had anything to do with this wreck.

The car accident happened at the mall of Acadiana around one o'clock in the morning, sources say. The woman who was driving the vehicle was from Broussard, Louisiana and had at least one passenger in the vehicle at the time. The 19 year-old woman was making the traffic circle in front of the mall when she veered off the road. The 2001 Nissan pathfinder went off and collided head on with a tree.

When responding emergency officials arrived at the scene of the wreck, it was found that the driver was critically injured. She was rushed to a local hospital, and her current condition is unknown. A passenger in her vehicle only sustained minor injuries, and was treated on the scene. At this time it is unknown if citations have been made, or the driver was driving under the influence. The investigations into this wreck continue, and have not been closed.
