Kenner Woman Booked In Fatal Crash

A 62 year old Kenner woman was booked with negligent homicide after being involved in a car crash that killed three people. Our condolences go out to the victims of this horrible accident.

The driver was also jailed for reckless operation of a vehicle and hit and run driving.

The accident occurred on Interstate 10 in the afternoon. The victims ranged in age from 42 to 72 years old.

Speeding seems to be a leading factor in this crash as witnesses stated the driver sped west on I-10 immediately before the crash. The driver swerved from the left lane to the center lane and struck the victims' Toyota Sienna. The Sienna turned onto its side and slid across the median into the path of an oncoming Chevy Tahoe.

The victims died after the Chevy Tahoe crashed into their overturned minivan.

The driver charged with causing the accident continued to the Loyola Drive exit where Kenner police caught up with her and detained her immediately. She was tested for DUI but apparently had not been drinking.

She faces serious consequences from this accident, with negligent homicide punishable by up to five years in prison.
