This month, a serious car wreck near Jennings, Louisiana has claimed the life of one man. Investigating police officers who are looking into the accident believe speed to be the ultimate factor of this crash. The investigations, however, are ongoing and no citations have been named as of yet.

The crash happened on Louisiana highway 26, south of the town of Jennings. Joseph A. Cotton of Orange, Texas was driving his Ford Expedition northbound down the highway when the accident occurred. His vehicle was approaching a left hand curve, and Cotton ran off the side of the roadway upon trying to navigate it. The car became airborne, flipped several times, and then lit on fire as it came back to the ground.

Louisiana state trooper's have stated that Joseph A. Cotton was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by the Jefferson Davis Parish coroner's office. Investigations into this accident continue, but speed has been listed as the probable cause. Toxicology reports have been sent into the lab, and the investigation will continue until those results come back.
