This month in Jena, Louisiana a serious wreck between a garbage truck driver and a small vehicle claimed the life of one man, and injured others. Sources say the accident happened on a local Louisiana highway during the day time while the garbage truck was on duty. Investigators have not released what they believe to be the cause of this wreck, nor have they released if the suspicion of alcohol or another substance is expect from this accident.

Marvin E. Price of Jena, Louisiana was on duty and driving his garbage truck southbound down Louisiana highway 127 with a coworker when the accident occurred. Apparently a small sized vehicle was heading northbound down 127 when, for reasons that are still being investigated, the car crossed the centerline. When it did, the garbage truck made impact with the vehicle. It is unknown if the collision caused the two vehicles to be pushed off the road, or if that accident was stationary.

Marvin E. Price was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck, and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the garbage truck received moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle also received moderate injuries, and was also taken to an emergency medical center for treatment. Routine toxicology reports, as required under Louisiana state law for all fatal accidents, are pending from the lab. The investigation into this accident continues, and charges are expected to be made pending the results of the toxicology tests.
