Interstate 10 wreck in Baton Rouge, Louisiana kills five.

Posted on Apr 07, 2011

This month in Baton Rouge, Louisiana a serious car wreck on Interstate 10 claimed the life of three young children and two women, sources say. The gruesome car accident happened midday, and only involved two vehicles. On site alcohol tests have shown that the driver who caused the wreck was indeed over the legal limit for the state of Louisiana.

28 year-old David Ryan Leger and 21 year-old Kelsye Jacque Hall were driving down Interstate 10 and driving with extreme aggression with the accident occurred. Something on the road had upset the pair, and they began to drive erratically. The erratic driving then caused their GMC pick-up truck to spin. The vehicle spun through the median and into oncoming traffic. There, the vehicle made head on impact with a car carrying five people.

The driver of the vehicle, Effie Fontenot, her young three children, and friend were all killed in this accident. It is unknown if they passed at the scene of the wreck, or if they were taken to hospitals before passing on. At the time of the crash, Leger and Hall tried to evade police. Leger was captured and given a breathalyzer, while Hall turned herself in several days later. This crash remains under investigation, and citations are pending for the people who caused the wreck.

After serious car accidents, many people have a lot of questions. These questions are usually the ones that many insurance companies would like to avoid.
