Hydroplaning accident kills two in Louisiana

This week in Plaquemines parish, Louisiana a woman passed as a result of the car accident she was involved in. It happened on a Louisiana highway during the stormy, sloppy weather that the state has been experiencing this month. Hydroplaning is the suspected cause of the wreck, but investigations are continuing on this incident.

Denise Ganier of Davant, Louisiana was driving her 2005 Chevrolet Malibu during one a extremely rain drenching storm at a 'high rate of speed'. Her car lost control and began hydroplaning, which caused the vehicle to cross over the centerline on Louisiana highway 39 and crashed into an oncoming Ford F-150 driven by Alfred Ricourd of Braithwaite, Louisiana. The crash took place just a few miles north of the intersection to Louisiana 3137.

The Louisiana state coroners office pronounced Ganier of Davant, Louisiana dead at the scene of incident. Ricourd of Braithwaite, Louisiana was taken via ambulance to Oschner Hospital Westbank Campus for treatment of moderate injuries sustained in the accident. Toxicology reports, as required by law, are being taken and sent in for analyses on the accident.
