Fatal crash in Natchitoches Louisiana

This week in Natchioches Parish, Louisiana there was a fatal single car accident caused for unknown reasons, which is still being investigated. Troopers got to the crash site around 2 p.m, and found the occupant of the car unresponsive. The accident has not been cited, and nothing has been charged.

The accident occurred on I-49 south, just north of the Natchitoches, Louisiana exit. The car involved was a 2003 Ford pickup driven by Paul Reggie. He was traveling southbound on the interstate, when for unknown reasons, he lost control of his car. He exited the left side of the roadway at interstate speeds before crossing the median, miraculously hitting no one in either northbound lanes, and then colliding into a ditch.

Reggie was properly restrained in his seat by the seatbelt, but was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A possible preexisting medical condition could have contributed to this accident, but the investigation is ongoing and the cause is still unknown. Toxicology reports are still being run by the lab for analysis.
