An early morning accident this month in Desoto parish, Louisiana has claimed the life of one woman. Investigators who responded to the wreck have not released if they believe the use of substances to be a factor in this accident, and citations have not been released. The wreck is still under investigation, sources say, and has not closed.

The wreck began around 4:19am in Desoto parish on local Louisiana highway 85, just west of LA 481. A 2004 Ford truck was traveling down the highway westbound with the accident occurred. Apparently the driver lost control of her vehicle, and crossed over the centerline of the highway. When the driver crossed over the line, they entered the path of a 2011 Mack truck traveling eastbound down the highway. Upon seeing the vehicle, the driver of the truck tried to take evasive maneuvers to avoid the collision, but was unsuccessful.

Both vehicles exited the roadway upon collision and entered a grassy ditch area. The driver of the Mack truck was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the wreck and was not injured. The driver of the Ford pick-up truck was a 30 year-old woman who was a San Antonio, Texas native. Her name has not been released as they are contacting the family. The wreck is still being investigated by police, but no citations have come up yet.
