There was a crash recently that killed a Evans, Louisiana man around Vernon parish. The accident was initially reported around 7:30 PM says the reporting police officer, and there are no opinions on what caused the accident as of yet. The crash is still open for investigation from the police department.
Parnell Strickland of Evans, Louisiana was driving his 1998 Ford pick-up truck westbound on La. Highway 111 on the evening of August 24th, 2010. For some unknown reason, Strickland lost control of his car and went off the right hand shoulder of the road. Strickland was partially ejected from the car.
Parnell was apparently not wearing a seatbelt, and while he was slightly ejected, Strickland had to be cut from the truck by emergency responders. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the state coroner's office. Routine toxicology tests in conjunction with Louisiana law on fatal car accidents are still being run on Strickland's corpse. Police have not released if intoxication is going to be considered a factor in this accident.
