Eight year old injured in Acadia Parish

An accident in Acadia Parish, Louisiana has seriously injured an eight year old girl. Reporting police have said that the investigation is ongoing, and that no citations have been charged for this wreck. The other people involved in this accident have been listed for moderate injuries, including two other children, and both adults. It was an early morning accident, estimated to have happened around 8am on La.1112.

State police report that Jerladine Robinson of Rayne, Louisiana was driving westbound on La. 1112 highway when, for reasons unknown, she crossed the centerline of the roadway with her SUV. Robinson's bumper made impact with the bumper of 29 year old Nina Kibodeaux's pick up truck. Apparently then the two cars spun in opposite directions, making a complete stop on the shoulders of the road.

Robinson and her ten year old passenger were taken to Lafayette General Hospital for moderate injuries. So was the eight year old passenger of Nina Kibodeaux's, except her injuries were listed as severe. Police reported that neither child was wearing at seatbelt at the time of the accident. Kibodeaux was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes with moderate injuries as well, the accident is still under investigation, and the caused of incident is unknown.
