Claiborne Parish Police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Claiborne parish, Louisiana this week. The accident occurred on a local Louisiana state highway, and right now the cause of incident is unknown. It suspected that the accident occurred around 8 p.m., and was discovered several hours later by police. This accident is still under investigation, and routine toxicology reports are pending.

57 year old Marsha R. Hunter was apparently driving northbound on Louisiana highway 521 in her 2001 GMC Jimmy when for reasons that are still being investigated her car ran off the right hand side of the road. Hunter then, according to State police, over corrected as she tried to get back into her lane. The car went spinning out of control on the left hand side of the roadway, traveling up an embankment. Hunter's vehicle then went through a fence, and hit several trees before coming to rest upright on the tree line.

Hunter was reportedly unrestrained at the time of the crash, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Claiborne parish coroner's office. Hunter had been reported missing earlier in the day, and a Webster parish detective who was actively looking for Hunter discovered the accident. The factors involved in this accident are currently unknown, as stated prior the incident is still under investigation by local law enforcement, and routine toxicology tests are pending.
