A Bayou Blue, Louisiana car wreck claimed the life of one man this week. The wreck occurred on a local Louisiana highway, and investigating state troopers do not suspect the use of alcohol or another substance to be a factor. The early afternoon wreck did not claim lives or injure any others, and responding emergency personnel have stated that the man died instantly from impact. The investigations into this accident continue, and no citations have been made.

55 year-old Berry Belanger of Montegut, Louisiana was driving in Bayou Blue, Louisiana when the wreck occurred. His 2005 Ford F-250 was traveling west wards towards Houma, Louisiana on La.182 when he tried navigating to the outside lane of the four lane highway. However, when Belanger made the move, his vehicle lost control. The F-250 swerved off the roadway completely and struck a tree, coming to rest against the trunk.

Belanger's vehicle was flattened due to the force of impact. When responding emergency personnel arrived onto the scene, they found Belanger had already passed. It was speculated from the police officers that he died instantly when his truck made impact with the tree. The investigations into this wreck continue as emergency personnel await the results of a routine toxicology report required by state law in all fatal car wrecks.
