Baton Rouge nursing home employee and patient injured in crash

Early last weekend, an elderly nursing home patient and a nursing home employee were hit in a car wreck on Betrand Drive. The car that hit the two pedestrians was a Toyota Corolla. Police say that it happened near the intersection of Eraste Landry Road and Bertand Drive.

The elderly citizen had wandered unnoticed out of the nursing home, through the parking lot, and was aimlessly meandering on the street when, the employee spotted him and moved to recover him from the intersection. The Toyota corolla then hit them while traveling through lanes.

Police have released that the elderly citizen is listed in the hospital as being in stable condition, while the nursing home employee is listed as critical condition. The Toyota's driver was not injured, and no citations have been issued. The wreck is still under investigation from the local police force.
