This month in Baton Rouge, Louisiana an accident claimed the life of one man. The wreck happened just outside the city at a church where the man was working. Investigators into the accident have said that there were two cars, and on pedestrian involved in the crash. The use of alcohol or another illicit substance is not a suspect for either of the drivers who caused the wreck. More charges are pending, and the investigation into this wreck continues.
22 year-old Jordan Gautreau was working at Healing Place church on Highland road around 7am that morning, sources say. He was installing a sign the church had recently acquired. The wreck happened when 42 year-old Peter Moore was trying to pull into the parking lot in his 335i BMW, the left hand turn he made caused his vehicle to hit another car that was trying to pull out. The sideswipe caused a 2003 Toyota Highlander driven by 51 year-old Katherine Taylor to run off the parking lot and onto the grass where she made impact with Jordan Gautreau.
Responding emergency personnel determined Jordan Gautreau dead at the scene of the wreck. Peter Moore was charged with failure to yield, but more charges might be pending as the investigation continues. On site toxicology tests determined that neither Moore or Taylor were intoxicated, and a toxicology report on Gautreau has been filed. It is unknown if either drivers of the vehicles were injured on top of Gautreau.
