An accident at a dangerous local intersection in Baton Rouge, Louisiana this week claimed the life of one person, reporters say. The accident occurred in downtown Baton Rouge during heavy traffic earlier this week, near the BR Community College. Police officers who responded to the accident did not state if they suspected the use of alcohol or other substances in this wreck, but toxicology samples have been taken as is required by Louisiana law for all fatal car accidents.

The wreck began when Donnie Tyler of Central, Louisiana was trying to make a left hand turn into an apartment complex at the intersection of North Ardenwood and Renior very close to the Baton Rouge Community College center. Tyler went to make the left hand turn and was hit by a Ford mustang heading southbound down the roadway. Tyler's car was then pushed into a utility pole by the mustang. There were four passengers in the mustang, and Tyler was driving alone in his vehicle.

Donnie Tyler of Central, Louisiana was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime by the Baton Rouge police department coroner. The medical situation of the four passengers inside the ford mustang is currently unknown. Neighbors who witnessed the accident said the intersection is dangerous, and something needs to be done about it. The conditions of this accident and the cause are under investigation by the police department, no citations have been made.
