Baton Rouge, Louisiana car wreck kills one

This month in Baton Rouge, Louisiana a fatal car accident took the life of one person and injured another. The wreck happened within the city limits on Highland Road. The two vehicles involved were a freightliner box truck, and a normal sized sedan. Police have stated that there were only two people involved in this wreck. The abuse of substances is not a suspected factor in this car accident.

69 year-old Bonnie Desilva of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was driving her vehicle down Highland Road around eight o'clock at night. The accident occured when Bonnie lost control of her Ford Expedition and made impact with a freightliner truck coming in the oppisite direction. The 18 wheeler was driven by 48 year-old Henry Simpson of Lafayette, Louisiana.

Bonnie Desilva was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collison. When emergency personell arrived, she was rushed to a hospital. Desilva passed on later that night from injuries sustained during the wreck. Henry Simpson was properly restrained by a seatbelt at the time of the wreck, and did not recieve life threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital via ambulance, and his current medical condition is unknown. This crash remains under investigation by the Baton Rouge police. At this time, no one has been cited. Police are waiting on the blood results to make a final decision in this accident.
