A serious car wreck in Acadia parish, Louisiana this month has claimed the life of one young man. The early afternoon accident happened on a local Louisiana highway, the use of substances is not a suspected factor in this wreck. The investigations into this accident continue, and no citations have been made.

18 year-old Deondrick Veal was driving his vehicle down local Louisiana state highway 367 just north of Louisiana highway 98. He was driving the vehicle southbound down the roadway, and was approaching a curve when the wreck happened. According to investigating officers, Veal lost control of his vehicle and exited the roadway. He tried to correct, but caused the vehicle to roll over. Then it went into a ditch, and struck a fence post.

Deondrick Veal was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck and was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. When emergency response teams discovered the wreck, 18 year-old Deondrick Veal had already died from injuries sustained in the wreck. At this time, blood samples have been sent into the lab for analysis, according to Louisiana law. This wreck is still under investigation, and no citations have been made.
