Truck Safety Coalition Survivor Advice

The Truck Safety Coalition has a group of volunteers who have experienced the grief and pain of a truck crash survivor. The members of their national network of volunteers are family members of truck crash victims or victims themselves. You can call 703-294-6404 to speak with one of their counselors. The group offers some practical advice for survivors.

First, take care of yourself by eating nutritious meals, getting rest, and exercising when possible.

Second, it is important that you talk to someone. Make sure you have someone around who will listen and to whom you feel comfortable talking.

Third, don’t hesitate to ask for help from people whom you trust. There are things you have to do to recover and you may need help.

You can have your loved one’s picture posted on the Memorial section of the Truck Safety Coalition website if you lost that special person in a truck crash. The coalition’s goal is to reduce truck crash deaths that could have been prevented. We do so in the memory of those who died in such crashes in the past. Posting photos of victims and family members provides a celebration of life dedicated to those loved ones and to those who are helping us reduce future fatalities. You can email a picture to the coalition with the name of the victim, date of the crash, cause of the crash, and any comments you wish to share.
