The
News Star reported yesterday that a head-on collision in Ouachita Parish killed both drivers. The accident occurred Wednesday in the early morning hours, when a 1996 Chevrolet truck traveling east on Louisiana 34 suddenly crossed the center line and hit a westbound 2000 Chrysler van head-on.
Both the Chevrolet driver, 42-year-old Emmitte Fleming and the Chrysler driver, 39-year-old Steven Green, were pronounced dead at the scene. They were both from West Monroe.
The reason why the Chevrolet truck steered away from its lane is unknown as the Coroner’s Office is still awaiting autopsy results.
